Job Responsibilities:

  • Credit Risk Assessment
    • Evaluate Customer Credit Risk Profile on potential clients before entering the contracts. Review of both Financial and non-financial factors.
    • Assess the creditworthiness of customers and make recommendations for credit approvals or denials in accordance with the policy’s guidelines.
  • Credit Review and Monitoring
    • Set and monitor credit limits for customers, ensuring that they are in line with the policy’s parameters and the customer’s creditworthiness.
    • Establish and communicate credit terms and conditions to customers, including payment due dates and any special arrangements, ensuring adherence to the policy.
    • Identify high-risk accounts and collaborate with other departments or teams to implement risk mitigation strategies, such as requiring collateral or adjusting credit terms.
    • Regularly review customer accounts to track adherence to credit terms and identify early signs of delinquency or  non-compliance.
    • Monitor credit amounts for compliance with established terms and conditions.
    • Conduct an Annual and Regular Credit Customer Review.
  • Dispute Resolution and Debt Recovery
    • Gather documentation for Credit insurance claims processing and ensure claim settlement.
    • Develop collections strategies for late payments and delinquent accounts.
    • Collaborate with Finance Shared Services debt Collectors and manage customer disputes by maintaining a good customer relationship.
    • Collaborate with legal counsel to initiate legal actions against chronically delinquent customers, including filing liens or pursuing litigation.
    • Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines outlined in the policy, promoting integrity and professionalism in credit management and control practices.
  • Compliance and Reporting
    • Conduct Monthly Credit Review Meeting with HOCs and key personnel involved to discuss about customers debt outstanding, performance, payment risk and dispute resolution.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit-related activities, including credit applications, approvals, customer communications, and collections efforts.
    • Report delinquent accounts to credit bureaus as specified in the policy and applicable laws and regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with IFRS 9 related to ECL and propose Bad debts provision as needed every month
    • Ensure that all credit-related activities and decisions are in compliance with the Credit Management and Control Policy as well as relevant laws and regulations.
    • Treasury Function
    • Handle bank facilities related requests from all SG subsidiaries
    • Handle treasury as bank related (BG, opening of bank account)
    • Handle adhoc treasury tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Continuous lmprovement
    • Work alang with Group Finance Manager on some AR related process automation
    • ldentify areas for improvement in credit management processes and recommend updates or revisions to the Credit Control Policy as needed.
    • Escalate significant credit issues or deviations from the policy to Group Management, if applicable.
    • Any adhoc duties as assigned

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Education Required:
    • Minimum Diploma or above in accounting or equivalent
  • Experience Required:
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting role specifically related to Credit and Treasury
    • The ability to identify and address credit-related issues and provide solutions.
    • Familiar with Sage Accpac and SQL is an advantage
    • Experience in Construction / Built industry is an advantage
