Covered linkways are shelters over footpaths to protect pedestrians from the different weather conditions while walking from one place to another. Given the climate of Singapore, weather protection is an important factor for consideration in the design of the infrastructure.
K.U.S manufacture and install the various designs of the covered linkways as per authorities requirements. Columns & Rafters are made of structural steel grade S275/S355 or equivalent. Roof is made of light weight aluminium composite panels.
Standard dimensions
a) Linkways connecting to MRT/LRT stations or other high traffic routes identified by the Authority shall have:
– Minimum roof width – 3.6m
– Minimum headroom – 2.2m
b) All other linkways shall have :
– Minimum roof width – 2.4m
– Minimum headroom – 2.2m
